So, here we are at comic number 75, and the best I can say is that I haven’t been doing at all well this week… well… last week.  My choices have been bad… I have been obsessed with the food going in, but not about making sure those choices are appropriate.  I am clearly suffering from diet fatigue, and it’s time to step back, and evaluate why I am doing this, and what I want out of this.  I shall attempt to do just that this week, and maybe make some headway into why it is so easy to fall back into bad habits.  For now though, let’s just run the numbers…

Food Intake:

  • Breakfast – granola bar – 160 calories
  • Morning Snack – Fiber 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar – 90 calories
  • Lunch – Hummus with veggies and two wee pita triangles plus a banana – 270 calories
  • Afternoon snack – an entirely different hummus with two wheat crackers (Laurie was snacking, and I grabbed two) – 40 calories
  • Dinner – Swai, green beans, corn on the cob and fresh guac – 700 calories
  • Evening snack – Fudgicle – 100 calories

1360 calories total.

Oddly, the simple act of admitting to myself that there was a problem, that I was stressing out (but not acting on it), and that I needed to take a deep breath and just let myself step back into my plan suddenly made food much easier to deal with.  Monday was actually rather low in calories, but I wanted a primarily plant-based day, and it’s hard to have a lot of calories in one of those.  It certainly won’t hurt in the long run.  We desperately need to stock up on more fruit so that I can have something with my morning granola (or frozen fruit and I’ll go back to smoothies for a while), but we’ve been busy… really busy.

I did my usual walk, but don’t have the graph image on me at the moment.  996 calories down though, so that’s 1360 in minus 996 calories out for a positive of 364 calories for the day.  The weird thing is that I’m not particularly ravenous today (tuesday), but I’ve been trying to trickle in food and drink throughout the day to prevent just that sort of thing happening…

Also, I need a nap!
